The concept of self-assessment of the organizational capacities is relatively new and is still disposed to questions and inquiries. There is growing recognition that none of the systems of assessment of the impact of an organization is acceptable if no some form of the process of self-assessment is included.

The INGOC itself is, above all, designed as a way of efficient self-assessment.
