Round Table - "Non-Governmental
Organizations, What, How and Why to measure?"
Round table “Non-governmental Organizations, What,
How and Why to measure?” organized by The Fund for
Open Society, Ulof Palme Centre and Proconcept will
be held on Wednesday, 30th of November 2005, in the
premises of the Fund for Open Society, Serbia.
The main reason for discussion is the project: “Analysis
of potentials and capacities of NGO’s in development
of civil society in Serbia (INGOC)”, which main goal
is to establish a mechanism of evaluation and self-assessment
of NGO’s and assist their future development and professional
performance.
The main subject of the round table is presentation
of the project activities we have undertaken so far.
Apart from this specific matter, the NGO representatives
will have the opportunity to discuss the need of establishing
standards in NGO performance and share their experience
on various capacity assessment tools they have encountered
in their work until now.
Cycle of Interviews 06
Within the INGOC project, the most interesting and
the most challenging part is on track. The part is
focused on interviewing NGO’s and collecting data
that should be made use of to all of us in future
work.
The data collected will serve to build the Index
of Capacity (INGOC) of individual organizations. Furthermore,
the designing of INGOC will function as an effective
instrument for analyzing the state of the NGO sector
in Serbia. As such, the INGOC will point out (recommend)
the further development directions, whereas passing
up becoming any kind of ranking list of the Serbian
NGO’s.
So far, the members of the ProConcept team have
conducted interviews with 26 NGOs throughout Serbia.
